Frequently Asked Questions

What are your tools of trade?

I have them listed to the right for you. For digital art I use Paint Tool Sai and Adobe Photoshop Elements 9. For traditional works they vary.

Have you ever taken art classes?

I am mostly self taught when it comes to drawing and painting and digital art.

Where do you get your inspiration?

I garner my inspiration almost everywhere I go! I mostly find it whenever I see something spooky n' ooky. Generally speaking I find myself admiring Victorian, baroque and gothic things. Ever since I was young I have always been obsessed with the gothic culture. As one may guess my favorite holiday is Halloween! I also adore Tim Burton!

How was Costa Rica? Do you speak Spanish?

Costa Rica has its pros and cons, just like any other place. I know enough Spanish to have a conversation and to get my point across.

I'm a young adult who is in love with all forms of art. I've been drawing ever since I could pick up a crayon. As I continue to mature I love to experiment with different types of visual art. Here you can see some of my works including: digital, traditional and 3D.

Early Life

I was born in California and lived most of my life in Costa Rica. At the age of eight I moved to Costa Rica with my younger sister. I lived there for nearly 10 years. During my first few years in Costa Rica I went to a private school and lived with my grandparents. During my 8th year of public school I was home schooled until my junior year. In July 2017 I moved back to California to finish my senior year. I am still a senior working hard to get my diploma. I one day hope to achieve my goal of becomes a professional artist.

My Life in Costa Rica

Living in Costa Rica was a crazy experience. One day I hope to write a novel about my life down in Central America. When I first arrived with my sister we didn't have our parents with us. We were staying with my grandparents. My sister and I didn't have much interest in playing with dolls. To pass the time we would draw. Years before we moved my aunt bought me a purple clipboard and inside it I kept all of my white drawing paper and pencils. Still to this day I have my clipboard with me. It is stained with black markings from markers and graphite dust between the creases. I remember laying down on the thin carpet while drawing with my beloved clipboard. My sister and I would create characters and stories together while listening to Bon Jovi for hours.

The Journey Here...

I started off as traditional artist, playing with crayons, pencils, then markers. When I first learned about digital art I wanted my hands on a tablet. I still can remember my eleventh Christmas unboxing my first tablet. I even remember my first ever digital art drawing. To this day I can't get enough of digital art. All art is amazing to me. My addiction for it has lead me to trying out ceramics. On my way I've met amazing people who inspire me through everything they do.
